I use RSS however for me its not the visitors rather i use the rss feature to automate lots of other stuff including auto posting to twitter / facebook and simmilar places.

Yup, a lot of the folks who get my posts do so through RSS And I pretty much keep track of every site I'm interested in through RSS. If a site doesn't offer a feed, I probably don't see their content.
